For over 30 years, the late George Thompson supported the local community and the education of students through the “Diamond in the Rough” scholarship program.
Stepping in to continue and represent this program, his daughter, Kathleen (Thompson) Kimball has ensured his legacy will continue for many years to come.
A new year has come, and the owner Kathleen is excited to expand the program further. She will be providing new efforts to allow more funds and more students to have the opportunity to receive this scholarship. She has formed a non-profit organization “The Diamond in the Rough Foundation”, to help raise additional funds for the scholarship. Starting May 15th to June 30th, a portion of the sales made in the George Thompson Diamond Co. store will be donated directly to the program.
